Covid Requirements

The off campus team in Palliser wants to ensure that students are learning and/or working in a safe environment.  We continue to believe that off campus programming is an excellent way to solidify the incredible learning happening within Palliser classrooms and prepare students for their post-secondary lives.

We wanted to let you know we remain committed to offering a variety of off campus programming, so we wanted to make you aware of some of the changes that have come as a result of last week’s announcement from the Government of Alberta.  The following is a list of considerations when choosing off campus programming:

Dual Credit:

All of our post-secondary partners will be requiring students to provide proof of vaccination or a negative test done within the past 72 hours.  Starting January 1st, many of our partners will no longer accept the negative tests and will require students to be fully vaccinated (medical exemptions may be considered).  We realize this puts a potential strain on plans and we respect your right to make your own choice regarding vaccination.  We wanted to make you aware of the policies put in place by the post secondary schools and let you know all communication regarding vaccination requirements will come directly from the post-secondaries as we will not be asking for vaccine status from any of our families.

Off Campus Programming:

For students choosing to do the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP), Work Experience, Green Certificate, Job Shadowing, etc., please note that some employers will require proof of vaccination in order to participate.  Please note that we will not be asking at the school level about vaccination status.  All vaccination conversations will need to be handled with the employers directly.  The requirement to provide vaccination status as a requirement for  employment and/or volunteering is solely in the hands of the student/family.  The Palliser Off Campus Team will not be asking about vaccination status in any of our application or vetting processes.
